Hello
I have an old powerbook g4 with 100 gb hard drive and I am putting it out of commision. I would like to use the hard drive as an external usb powered hard drive if that is possible. If it can't be usb powered that will be fine too.
Does anyone know:
1. How to do this?
2. What I will need to buy?
3. Where would the best place be to buy the things that I need to get?

Put the drive into a USB 2.0 external enclosure designed for 2.5" ATA/IDE drives (not SATA drives). Here's one that's dirt cheap:

Do you know if all I have to do is insert it into the case or will there be some kind of formatting that I will need to do in order to start using it?
Just install it in the case. It should immediately behave just as it did when it was in the Powerbook.
